With humor and a candid recounting of her life so far, Jessi Klein gives the outsider in all of us a voice. This book will make you laugh, cringe, and truly think about some of her perceptive observations.
When I first heard about this book, I was thinking that it would just be another comedian trying to hit the bestseller list. I really didn’t know much about the author and how good could it be, right? Yet, there was something in the back of my head telling me to read this book. So I did and I was blown away by what I read.
The comedian and author brought to page such an honest and wonderfully unique voice that I sat down in one day to finish the book. Maybe it is just me or the fact that I am apparently a “tom-man”, but these essays and retelling of situations were extremely relatable. From beginning to end, Jessi Klein showcased her comedic ability while still giving the reader some truly insightful moments. I warn you. There is some intense wit within these pages. There is no way around this. You will laugh. You may even snicker. But by the end, you will have read a really great book.

INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES AND USA TODAY BESTSELLER! YOU'LL GROW OUT OF IT hilariously, and candidly, explores the journey of the twenty-first century woman.
As both a tomboy and a late bloomer, comedian Jessi Klein grew up feeling more like an outsider than a participant in the rites of modern femininity.
In YOU'LL GROW OUT OF IT, Klein offers - through an incisive collection of real-life stories - a relentlessly funny yet poignant take on a variety of topics she has experienced along her strange journey to womanhood and beyond. These include her "transformation from Pippi Longstocking-esque tomboy to are-you-a-lesbian-or-what tom man," attempting to find watchable porn, and identifying the difference between being called "ma'am" and "miss" ("Miss" sounds like you weigh ninety-nine pounds).
Raw, relatable, and consistently hilarious, YOU'LL GROW OUT OF IT is a one-of-a-kind book by a singular and irresistible comic voice.
